Inaugural Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Career Development Conference
17 September 2024 | Edgbaston Park Hotel, Birmingham
All BRC-funded researchers and their wider theme members are invited to our first BRC Career Development Conference. Join us to hear from a range of speakers in different career pathways who will showcase their research experiences, and learn more about the translational work being conducted within our Biomedical Research Centre.
This is an important opportunity for cross thematic and wider community networking, so all BRC-funded Academy members (early career researchers completing a specific award or on a formal training development plan) and support staff are expected to participate by producing a poster. Please note that printing costs will be covered by the Birmingham BRC.
Registration
Registration for the event is free and will close on Friday 6 September 2024.
Abstract submissions
This is an excellent opportunity for you to highlight your work, however early you are in your project. If you are supporting multiple BRC projects, please do include this information and your role in this, and for those who have only recently started in post, we welcome abstracts outlining the work which you plan to complete and your anticipated results.
Abstracts will be judged by a panel of our senior investigators and patient partners and selected abstracts will be shortlisted to give oral presentations of their work. Prizes for the best poster and oral presentation will be awarded on the day.
Abstract submission deadline: Friday 16 August 2024
Please follow the guidance in this template to format and submit your abstract.
We anticipate that you will be notified of acceptance/selection for oral presentation by the end of August.
