Status: Ongoing
Inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA), can significantly impact physical activity and overall health. Traditional methods of monitoring these conditions often require in-person visits, which can be inconvenient and limit the scope of data collection. This project aims to develop a remote monitoring system to track physical activity and health outcomes in people with inflammatory arthritis. In the long-term, the intention is that collecting this type of data remotely, will help lead to the development of more personalised and responsive care.
Project aims
This project’s goal is to aid understanding of how digital markers of physical activity are linked to health outcomes among people living with inflammatory arthritis. This will help to develop digital interventions to improve patient health and well-being.
As part of this project, we will:
- create and test protocols for digital recruitment and data collection
- adapt an existing smartphone app to collect data on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in PsA to gather data on physical activity and health outcomes
This project is a collaboration between experts from the University of Birmingham and the University of Oxford.
