Dr Rima Dhillon-Smith is a Clinical Associate Professor in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Birmingham’s Department of Metabolism and Systems Science. She works clinically as an honorary Consultant Gynaecologist and subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine at the Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Dr Dhillon-Smith is internationally recognised for her work in thyroid disease and fertility and pregnancy. Her research interests focus on reproductive endocrinology, subfertility, paediatric and adolescent gynaecology, and early pregnancy. She has a senior leadership role in the Tommy’s National Centre for miscarriage research.
Dr Dhillon-Smith is passionate about the health of girls and women; her work clinically and academically spans the life course. As a co-lead for the theme of Women’s Metabolic Health within the BRC, Rima plans to drive forward innovative and meaningful research and aims to collaborate across the BRC, as well as other key networks, to maximise output and impact.
