Bio

Dr Sardeli trained as an exercise physiologist and does research into the clinical benefits and risks of different types of physical exercise on older adults with and without chronic diseases.

Based at the University of Birmingham, she became recognised for her expertise in systematic review and meta-analysis, due to the simple method that she developed to allow researchers and students to produce their own research papers in a time efficient manner.

She is currently investigating to which extend what is known by ageing of the immune system could be just an effect of reduction in physical activity with ageing. In parallel, she also investigates the potential benefits of exercise during upper respiratory infections.
