Professor Yemisi Takwoingi

Bio
Yemisi Takwoingi is Professor of Test Evaluation and Evidence Synthesis in the Institute of Applied Health Research. Her main research interest is in test evaluation and methods for conducting and reporting primary studies and systematic reviews of diagnostic tests. She collaborates as a biostatistician/methodologist across a wide range of clinical areas and is currently an investigator or supervisor on research awards spanning early phase evaluation of diagnostics through to clinical studies and evidence synthesis to inform guideline development.
Yemisi also has an interest in research equity and she is the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead for the NIHR Midlands Patient Safety Research Collaboration that aims to make care safer for patients through clinical themes in acute care and maternal health. She is passionate about ‘People and Culture’, an area she leads on in the Institute in her role as Deputy Institute Director. She also leads the NIHR Race Equity and Diversity in Careers Incubator to support the careers of racially minoritised health and care researchers and is the Capacity Development Lead for the NIHR West Midlands Evidence Synthesis Group.
